| Colour Australian Kelpies can be a range of colours, including red, chocolate, black, red/tan, black/tan, blue and fawn. In New South Wales, the working dog lines are allowed a wider variety of colours including the blue/fawn and fawn/tan. |

| History The Australian Kelpie was originally developed as a sheep (and occasional cattle) dog in the 1920's. It is now selectively bred depending on whether the offspring are to be full time working dogs, or to be used for less strenuous purposes. |
